Remixing America: What Hip Hop Has to Teach Us About a More Sustainable Future

July 29, 2020 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

FAC Director Idris Goodwin engages with a series of local, regional, and national artists and educators who have been recognized in the field of hip hop arts integration and practice.

Hip Hop is a multidisciplinary art form born from the innovative creativity of black and brown kids in a post-industrial, pre-digital American city. They used their lack of resources as opportunities to create groundbreaking new forms of art and industry. They invented the remix, taking old things and making it newer, fresher and more exciting. In a moment where the nation finds itself undergoing critical change, politically, socially and economically, those who have carried the fire sparked by those innovative kids from the Bronx have much to teach us about what’s possible.

Available late August; stay tuned for updates on how to access.
