Midwestern transplants, Melanie and her husband moved their six children to Colorado t create a base camp for experiencing the West. After a day of homeschooling, Melanie develops curriculum and writes about topics as diverse as faith, entrepreneurship in the SPrings, and Evergood Elixir’s lemon wines.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Kelsey came to Colorado Springs in pursuit of her career in journalism. As a reporter for the local NBC affiliate, she most enjoyed telling Colorado lifestyle stories. Mesmerized by warm sun and cool mountain air, she continues to call the Springs home despite leaving TV news to slow down with her husband and dog.
Veteran Colorado Springs journalist John Hazlehurst has sailed around the world on a 40-year-old wooden sailboat, and also worked in investment banking and real estate as well as serving two terms on City Council. He enjoys bars, book, biking, his beautiful wife, and their three big dogs.
Gillian is a Canadian currently loving life in Colorado. a Jack (Jill) of all trades, she is a lifelong learner who served 10 years in the Canadian Armed Forces before transitioning to the world of education. Gillian loves adventures and exploring, and can often be found scrambling up a rock or tree for a better view.
Darcie is a fourth generation Coloradoan, born and raised in Colorado Springs. She left Colorado to study Journalism and Communications, run her own media company, and travel extensively. She returned home to the shadow of Pikes Peak where she is dedicated to the success of the city and the region.
Jeremy Cote is a decorated combat veteran, UCCS graduate, founder of Sun Moto Parts, Ltd, and a life-enthusiast. Caitlin Murphy is a Marketing Director and freelance photographer living in Denver. She is a Colorado enthusiast to her core. She lives with her dog, Avett Gregory, who believes he is King of the World.

Amanda Miller Luciano
Amanda Miller Luciano grew up in Colorado Springs. But she had to leave to realize what an amazing place it is. After living in New York, Alaska, London, and Jackson Hole, she found her way back to sunny Colorado Springs at the base of America’s Mountain, where she worked as a reporter at the Colorado Springs Business Journal. As a former journalist and now a commercial and residential Realtor, she knows the community and loves sharing her insider knowledge to help visitors, newcomers, and even other locals make the most of it.
Jewels stays busy with her three business, two dogs, two cats, and husband. She loves Colorado but yearns for the beach during the coldest winter months. She lives for her friendships, family, and community. She’s passionate about health and hopes to someday get back to her homesteading roots.
Karen Hazlehurst’s three-decade journey in publishing has covered all the bases and then some. Beginning as an advertising salesperson for a chain of small weeklies in New Jersey, she transitioned into increasingly responsible positions at major American dailies, including the Asbury Park Press, The Omaha World-Herald and the Cincinnati Enquirer. As Advertising Director for the Dallas Morning News, she supervised 125 employees and generated over $100 million in annual revenue. She moved to Colorado Springs in 2007, initially serving as VP of Advertising for the Colorado Springs Gazette. More recently, she has consulted extensively for Media News Group (now Digital First Media) and served as Advertising Director for the Manitou Springs Bulletin.
Karen and her spouse John live with their three unruly dogs in a semi-restored 1899 Victorian on the historic Westside of Colorado Springs.
